2012 Cascadia DD15 Three Filter Fuel Module.. It's been about 2 months(10-20kmiles) since I last installed my fuel pump and it only worked for about 2 weeks without cranking issues. Since then I've had to use starting fluid spray to operate and recently have had the time and money to have it checked out. So the fuel pump is not building any pressure up on the crank, I believe I had seen 20 bar psi which is nothing at all. After using spray and the engine is on the fuel pressure is good and it operates just fine with no issues idling or down the road. Previously those were two issues the new fuel pump had solved, rough idle and sputtering while driving. Now, this cranking, no start issue is a real pain. Mechanic suggested it was a fuel pump that just went bad, and I plan to have it checked out by someone else in the near future. I don't quite remember if the fuel filters had been replaced with the new pump but I know they were recently replaced with an oil change. This had been an issue with the old fuel pump as well. Any other suspected issue than the fuel pump itself?

Just be aware starting fluid is like meth to an engine. Use it too often without any fuel spray on the cylinder walls and it'll start to glaze up the liners.

Just by going off the information you are presenting, sounds to me like it’s not the fuel pump. If you are saying that once the truck is running everything is fine and pressure is where it should be then the transfer pump is your culprit. The only job the transfer pump has is to hold fuel pressure in the line when the truck is shut down. This way when you go to fire it up fuel is in the line ready to go for start up. If the transfer pump is bad then the fuel flows back into the tank when engine is not running. Leaving no fuel in the line when you go to start, which is why you need to keep hitting it with ether. This is something I would fix sooner then later, don’t keep dry starting your motor that way, or it will cost a lot more then a 4$ can of starting fluid to get your day going.

you may have partially stack open pressure limiting valve. it is located on fuel rail. rear end of fuel rail.
