Observation: no matter what you are posting..be it encouragement, warning or hilarious sarcasm, @otterinthewater, type intrepidly and with trembling fingers the phrase lease purchase and the haters from all sides slither out of the woodwork.
The rest of us get it. Gentle critique: you should have stopped with the line "Send me a $100 and I will hook you up."otterinthewater Thanks this. -
if you are doing a lease and are satisfied with what is going on that's ok too . this happens a lot also and there is not a thing wrong with it . most of the lease operators are newer drivers and don't have another way of getting there own truck and this works out for some people .. most of the problems happen when a,person who is a company driver isn't making very good money and then will lease a truck from the same company thinking this will solve the problem and it will not . useually if you have a little experience and knowledge and are making decent money as a company driver you should do alright. the biggest problem I think is these training companies will lease a truck to someone fresh out of training before they have sufficient knowledge to make it work. when a new driver leases a truck he should make more than most new drivers regardless of the truck ever gets paid off.. if you have 5 yrs experience and clean record leasing a truck isn't a very good idea because there wouldn't be any advantage to you . if you wanted to go owner operator you should buy or lease on your own and not through your company

Could you type this in braille I lost both eyes in the game. -
I'm mystified that so many who read the original post don't get that the op is making a valid point regarding lease vs company driver. And he did it in a clever and humorous manner. After I failed (again) at a lease purchase attempt his description of company driver sounds delicious.
Can a lease be successful? In theory yes but as far as I can see only if the lessor has all the right stuff to be an owner op including cash backing. Which begs the question why not just buy?
I had to take it on the chin 3 times before I came to see the reality of that.otterinthewater and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
Your humor always stands tall. Sorry I don’t have the southern drawl you’re looking for.... and thanks for your thread. It’s impressive the following you’ve gained and the people who’ve been able to gain knowledge from you and that thread. Thanks again.UturnGirl Thanks this.
