Ain’t that the truth...
I am by no means suggesting that truck stop sit down restaurants are the holy grail of food options but there a lot better than fast food diarrhea from hell...
Far too many sit downs going the way of the dinosaur. Found that out the hard way last night in Pearsall... ended up eating out of the truck.
I have left overs from last night so I’ll be enjoying my pasta![]()

Yeah. I've not been in it long enough to know about the good old days but I'd be happy with a decent lunch counter type thing to order something to go instead of fast food. Anything's better than fast food or premade food that's been there for hours on end.

I like food and eatting but since most of the time I am running a 12 hour time card I pack my lunch pale and keep the door shut. Fast food only when nothing else is available and my lunch pale expired before the day ended. Most guys don't like running with me because of that. So when I do stop at a nice joint its a quiet peaceful meal. Now a pit stop for coffee sure in and out. Doc recommended to stop taking a coffee pot in my thermos everyday. So I still stop for one here or there. I try not to stop for fuel ever. Bye some if I need to to make it. But normally fuel up on the way to the yard when work is done for the day. I get on here to hear all the lunch counter stories I need Lol. Good night fellow christian legal truckers.

One of the perks of being home daily, packing my lunch.

You ever get tired of the same cold sandwiches however. I like cooking but only so much you can put in your lunch. Made dinner one night and the Mrs. said why are you making a meatloaf too? I said its not for dinner I'm making the darn thing because tired of turkey! lolwhoopNride, peterbilt_2005, Crusader66 and 19 others Thank this. -
Y’all know I love to eat out so I ain’t even gonna argue...
When the food options suck... it is what it is.... I’ll whip something up real quick instead of having to hit the over the counter fast food. That’s why I like having a fridge, microwave, and some glassware. A crock pot is the next thing on my list... either that or I get Arlington to take my passenger seat out and I pull a @catalinaflyer and carry an oven with me...
But I’ll always try to hit Dottie’s when I’m going through there

Yeah I like to change it up, I always take cheese sticks, pepperoni sticks, and usually jello cups. I’ll shred chicken or pork, meatloaf is good too. I’ve told young guys just pack something, I refuse to stop so you can eat if we’re running and you knew about it ahead of time.Crusader66, Tug Toy, PoleCrusher and 19 others Thank this.

That’s what happened to me when I first started at Melton. Cereal for breakfast, apple and oatmeal for lunch, some sort of sandwich for dinner... I lasted five weeks before going “screw this” and getting more creative and eating out every third night.
You can make A LOT with just a microwave... unfortunately most guys just use it for “microwaveable dinners.”Crusader66, Tug Toy, PoleCrusher and 13 others Thank this. -
The microwave may or may not be good for heating up a Moe's homewrecker and queso purchased during a 30 minute nap, I heard somewhere.whoopNride, Crusader66, cke and 16 others Thank this.

I wouldn’t let anything from Moe’s sit for long anyway...whoopNride, Crusader66, cke and 17 others Thank this.
