So what are you using for a Preventative Maintainance Program? Does outline everything in detail to follow?

I created my own spreadsheet when I first started my operation. It includes a running account of everything I've ever had done (maintenance wise) to the truck. I just printed the spreadsheet out in a pdf and included it in my documentation.

This last week I finally got the Green Light Transponder (Oregon scale bypass) set up. It's integrated with the NORPASS system. Since I go into California I applied for a PREPASS account as well. When the service rep took my information he said I received a 95% bypass rating, I'm guessing from SAFER information.

So, I guess everything must look good in their system ;-)

I was under the impression they wanted to see a written "plan" so to speak. Something similar to the company's alcohol and drug policy they require. I can easy show a maintenance and repair log. Also plan on doing an Annual every 3 months as part of the Program as well.

The "written plan" I included was a 1 page copy of the manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals.

It was, as noted, a very simple review.

Thanks. Maybe I'll type something up so it looks a little more professional. That coupled with records should be more than enough.

I had a 100% OOS rate for quite awhile. I never didn’t notice getting extra scrutiny over it.

We run mostly local, and rarely across scales, so we don’t get inspected much with 4 trucks. The one inspection we did get, the driver was pulled over for a tail light out and placed OOS. I was there that morning when the driver did his pre-trip and the tail lights were working, but what are you going to do. The officer did let him go to the TS at the next exit to get a replacement bulb.

OOS for a burnt out bulb. Unreal.
