Applications Pour Into Local Trucking Companies

Yea, I spoke to a Vice President of a Company in Memphis, Tn. who said he was getting 100's of applications a day...so now he is picking the "cream of the crop". So It looks like we have a truck company shortage instead of a trucker shortage. Looks like the shoe is on the other foot now. Truckers need Companies instead of companies needing truckers. I was turned down for employment by several well-known companies because I had a DUI 35 years ago.

 

I hope wannabes are starting to get the picture and don't waste thousands of dollars to get a useless CDL . They'd be better off spending the money on lottery tickets because they have better odds winning the lottery than getting a secure job . Yeah , some will get hired but they'll end up quitting in a few months like the person they replaced did . Spend $4,000 to get a job taking home $300 a week then quit after 10 weeks or less . Many have done it that way . Many others never even got hired .

I never broke 25,000 till i went to welding of course 15yrs ago we got between 15-20cpm but heck you could have all the miles you could drive most times
