Man that is awesome, your doing exactly what I was planning on doing. You must of made good money with Millis Transfer to do that so fast. I will probably stick with them for a few years though. I have a 5 year plan worked out. Hope to run into you sometime and have some coffee and a chat.

Well, the money at Millis is second to none for brand new drivers. I made almost 57k my first full year. But... I didn't even come close to doing this on my own. I had plenty of help. My dad is O/O and has been for a while now. I got my downpayment from him. I also got some help from a friend of mine that floated me some "gettin' by" money till I landed on my feet here. I am extremely grateful to both of them. I'm here because they put me here.BullDozer-( Thanks this.

I hear what you're saying, and I completely understand where you're coming from. However... if you're looking to get your own truck some day, it'll never affect you. When Millis handed me the keys to my truck, I was kinda salty that it wasn't a stick. I didn't feel right in that thing for a couple weeks. But I had a couple rough days with my trainer that made me realize auto is better (at least for me). We hit extremely rough rush hour traffic in Chicago on one occasion, and I almost fell out of the truck when we got stopped for the night. My left knee was so sore that it couldn't support me when I stepped out. Lucky I had a firm grasp on both bars. I could barely walk in to the truck stop. And running 45k beer loads and you have to stop on a hill. #### all that, man. Like I said, I'll never EVER be caught dead in an automatic car. But I'll never own anything but an auto truck. I know the Johnny Big Balls drivers out there look down on guys like me. It's a aaaaall good man.
MIT, dhellmer and BullDozer-( Thank this. -
I'm okay with it, I'm not really going to ask about a discount. Was just joking. Actually I want automatic because exactly what you said. Work smarter not harder.

There are a lot of situations out there where a stick is a hindrance, not a help. A few days back I was in West Virginia in freezing rain in the dark with light fog. I wanna deal with shifting on top of that? I think not, my friend. I wanna make it home alive to see my wife. Sleet, mountains, dark, and fog were quite enough to make my grapes shrink to the size of spinner bearings. I don't really need to add something else into the mix.BullDozer-( Thanks this.

God I hate West Virginia, place spooks the hell out of me. I drive to Florida every winter from Niagara Falls NY and I don't stop for anything in West Virginia. I make sure I'm gassed, rested and fed in PA. on the way there and SC on the way back. I don't know what it is either I just get spooked. I guess I'll have to face my West Virginian fear's someday, SOON.
West Virginia is a scarey place in itself, I get creeped out going through there to FL.
Is it just me or does anyone else find it creepy?

I gotta ask... what spooks you? I won't stay in WV overnight except for Hurricane. But that's just because I'm sick of the lizards. No lizards in Hurricane. None that I've ever seen. But Go Mart is their major chain there the accommodates trucks. Always reptiles lurking about. The big three don't exist there. So other than the street walkers, what scares you?Last edited: Nov 20, 2018
