I wouldn't be looking for a lawyer until Ingersol had a chance to warranty their work. There's a chance they may do it right. So what did you do with the load you were under? Also, what was the initial problem that Ingersol was suppose to have fixed that cost you 4k?

I agree, that's why I asked but the OP just vanished.MartinFromBC Thanks this.

I have two plausible theories on this, neither of which make the OP look good.

Seems like I have been going to court lately. It's harder to prove from my opinion in court that someone owes you money rather than be on defense to have to pay someone.
I Love going to court and don't always win but most of the time I do.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
I rather enjoy court myself.
I've gone to watch a little to see how it works before a case i had long ago, and realized i had nothing to worry about for my own case.
I've been a juror, expert witness, sued twice, and took someone to court and successfully sued them once. Its actually rather fun. -
She stated the original problem was the Jake was messing up. What they did to fix it she didnt say but a jake problem could lead to major problems, especially if it busts a piston. That has always been why I question the wisdom of someone riding down the road playing with it?Last edited: Nov 27, 2018

The repair ingersoll did further damage the engine instead of fixing the jake brake. So shop # 2 found the rocker and don’t know how many broken pieces inside the engine.
By the way shop #2 Elk Mountain Diesel in Rawlins Wyoming are worse than Ingersoll.
I’m done dealing with inept mechanics!!! -
I guess this is a case of make money quick out of these two dumb drivers(meaning my hubby and I) first the engine brake stopped working we took it to ingersoll they kept the truck ( a freightliner with a DD15 engine) btw we were told this type of engine is the worst of them all. They kept the truck for 2 weeks because they were having trouble finding the problem. Finally took it out and I’m the first trip out broke down again. That’s when Elk Mountain diesel put their dirty hands in the engine and in my pocket. They said they found a bunch of broken parts they even found a broken range inside the engine. They put everything new and that’s how they charged 32k.
And u guys want to hear something really funny. The truck broke down again right after coming out of the shop in Wyoming at that point we were in California now the truck is at the Freightliner in Fontana Ca and they said Elk Mountain put in parts that didn’t belong to that type of engine they’re going to repair it AGAIN but this time they’re charging Elk Mountain diesel. How do you like that for a drama?????? -
I looked them up. They have a nice website, and what looks like a state-of-the-art facility which makes me feel like they're legit and not some shade tree guy. That doesn't mean you weren't overcharged because they had you over a barrel. But you need to be specific in your allegations for 1: to prove your case and 2: to help us here avoid a sketchy business. Because if I was broke down around there just looking at their website I would think this place is good.

For 32k don't you have a new motor?
