Thanksgiving Roll Call

I have a small turkey in the oven, a tiny ham in the toaster oven now. My mother and I did lemon and pumpkin pies from scratch and a chocolate cake last night. Stuffing is ready to cook and potatoes are getting peeled. We're debating between asparagus and bacon green beans or both. The dogs are like Velcro because they know food is just a finger tip slip away.

 

I'm at home wishing I was on the road, it is chaotic and loud here at home, too many people in the house for my taste. I already got punished for my move to do some shopping at a local "pre-black friday sale" sale this morning, I could not believe the amount of people standing in line to get cheap cans of Campbell mushroom soup.

As many of you know I am a mean owner, I am cheap so my drivers who are on the road are getting a present from me, they get 100% of the truck's revenue for today and tomorrow. If they are not on the road, they have free dinner by a reimbursement for any dinner they get today - with a cap of $200.

Ran my last linehaul run of the week. Rest of the week closed. Just got home. Lucked out with a 4 day weekend. Last year I worked the holidays even Christmas night. One thing I missed about Freight vs Foodservice. Foodservice id be running out tonight. Who really eats Taco Bell, KFC, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Pizza Hut the day after Tday. They got enough to survive til Saturday. Blood suckers.

 

At home being ordered around by wife, "clean the bathroom...vacuum the floor...take the garbage out...shake out the couch covers..."

You know, the normal wife freak out before everyone shows up LOL.

 

Spending it in the LandoLakes parking lot in Hillsboro Wisconsin this evening.

Hopefully my turkey fits in my pressure cooker

 

I'm out on the road, seems lots of other drivers are as well. Just had a Turkey dinner from Dennys, a far cry from homemade but surprisingly wasnt to bad.

Just bought some fresh popped kettle corn from the guy outside the flying J as a little treat to myself.
