They are still around. Guess you haven't seen one recently to be asking what happened to them. Nobody said anything about not using maps or anything of the ability to use them. Based on one question, you made a lot of assumptions.

I don't know if USA has it but the truck GPS navigation system are not 100% accurate today. They still have problems. It seem mostly because they don't really update the maps.

Copilot Truck has good routing but the address numbers are always off. Their are some online apps but their routing and directions are not very good when driving.Google maps is very good for correct address but it not truck routing.

I combined Copilot Truck with Google maps to see the pickup or delivery location and then I can tell Copilot Truck the exact spot on the maps I want to go. My company pays$10 a month for Copilot Truck to work on the truck ELD. So I only have that on the dashboard

Nothing I perfect Copilot Truck will tell you to make U Turns sometimes when that's illegal and not enough room. Garmin Truck GPS has good reputation at being pretty good and reliable. Garmin will send you down dirt roads. So nothing is 100% reliable. That why people say you should be able to to get out the old road map. I have a new Trucker Road Atlas still. It list the low Bridges and road truck can't go on. Incase the GPS is wrong.

Yes they do but it's not as good as a Garmin 780 or the other brand equivalent. I have a map book also collecting dust , between Google maps and A regularly updated Truck Gps you should have no issues.

It’s nice to sit down and look through your map book and have everything pre-planned in your head. I never saw a reason for a GPS personally

Why not buy your own GPS, velcro the thing

Buy a Rand McNally Motor Carrier's Atlas while you are at it. Electronics is not everything.

My atlas very seldom got used for mapping purposes.

Copilot worked just fine for me. Along with google to help me get closer to destination. So I didn't have to crawl down the street looking for my destination while cars were honking at me. In Cali.
