Absolutely. I just didn't know anything about how hydroflouric acid acts on human tissue.

I just went and read the wiki article on hydroflouric acid.

    It had pictures.

I don't think you want that much character.......

Which is why you pay attention and do your job, ESPECIALLY when hauling Hazmat.

Don't be afraid to haul hazmat or do anything that is dirty, difficult, or dangerous. Do your ####ing job. If you haul hazmat then follow all the best practices of DOT standards, your company standards, and your customer standards. I've hauled loads that are far worse than the acid noted earlier in this thread.

You stop at all railroad crossings. You note on your truck specific GPS what hazmat you are carrying so you stay on safe routes. You sometimes over ride that route choice if it isn't safe enough. You put out the proper placards. You review the shippers statement. You do everything you are supposed to do.

Then you get PAID. Really well. Because most drivers look at pictures of injuries because somebody ####ed up. That's why there's a driver shortage to haul hazmat. That's why you have an opportunity to make a lot more money. That's why you have an opportunity to receive a lot more respect.

Exactly, You wear you PPE as required when unloading, Don't cut no corners and you'll come home intact every night.
I see guy's unloading nasty crap often and not wearing any PPE makes absolutely no sense to me.
Most caustics, acids, Poisons are aired off and with all that pressure and I mean as little as 10psi can cause a lot of problems and harm to anybody in the area.

    REO6205, Dan.S, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah, we had a guy wiping acid residue from a tote with no protection last year. No gloves, no nothing. He went to the hospital. Pay attention to what you are doing.

It does seem like a decent gig for sure. Gonna have to hit them up to see what the deal is with the relocation help.
