If you get a chance, think of us in the southeast. Yesterday we didn't even get to 70 degrees. My gas heating bill is going to be high this year.

Good morning y'all. Shogun I want to stress how much I appreciate you telling me this information. This has been a real eye opener for me.
This situation reminds me of the maintenance people who @superhauler had to double check on lately.
Just like he had to go to a different shop to get competent work done, I'm going to need to go to a different doctor. There are other things that I didn't talk about here that combined with this one have led me to realize this.
While I am guilty of being many things and I may act like I'm stupid at times I can guarantee that is one thing that I'm innocent of. Naive Trust would get me a trip to the Green Mile though.
I'm glad that superhauler found out about what they did before it was catastrophic and hopefully so have I.
Thanks again and y'all have a great day today. -
Last day at the house. Getting my stuff put back in the truck. No idea yet what tomorrow holds, though I have heard there is 40 loads of 8 an 9 weights at West Plains needin a ride to Stratford TX. Maybe I get a couple of em before they are all gone.

Of course with the emissions crap on it, you might get outpulled by an Autocar with a shiny 290.

Hey @wore out, ever stop at the Doghouse, exit 165 on i20 in Bama?

@Zeviander, because of the overlap that I mentioned before, you typically only split the lower gears of the main box with two or three of the brownie, and for me it was usually the two unders and direct. I was told to avoid over in the brownie in the low gears because of the strain on the brownie due to the great amount of reduction in the main.
The beauty of the two stick systems was the ability to have great reduction for starting out, while still having a double overdrive that helped a lot with the the lower horsepower engines and numerically high rear end ratios. Also, like in the top side of a 13, the splits are much smaller if you elect to use them all. The drawback was that it typically took a lot longer to shift when shifting both boxes because you had to let the rpms drop way low to shift the main and then bring them back up to catch the brownie. Some guys, in some circumstances could shift both boxes at relatively the same time. When I was learning I ended up stopped on a hill more than once for trying that though. Once both boxes are in neutral it is easy to have to stop and start over again.
Hopefully this makes some sense. Any other old farts out there please correct or clarify this post if I have not made things clear as mud! -

Been there a few times myself. Sounds like you didn’t believe in reaching through the steering wheel either.

Any words of wisdom from you?
