Nothing personal but there's a difference between ambitious and unrealistic

Just $1.06? Your truck will break even at around that number give or take 25 cents (Probably take.) My stab at being a O/O lasted a week and I was looking at about 1.15 with 1.50 freight leaving me with about .30 if all went well. If not? Guess what. that .30 went to the truck. I would not need a wife, when I had a 10 wheel mistress with a sugar daddy company dictating to me what I can haul, where to and when. That's not true freedom. It's a good thing that particular episode got stopped. Im over it.

Also, If you had layovers, that means you or someone else screwed up. (Meat Loads excluded..) you would lose so much per day sitting. And many costs still are arriving at your mailbox anyway. Insurance etc. (Which I understand is thousands per year now)

Im not here to be difficult or try to fight above my weight class, I would talk to other drivers within whatever company you are evaluating to run for and learn from them the particulars as it happened good or bad. You will find that a good company hardly has to do much to attract class. The rest of the mills or worse will go through so many who leave when they are out of pockets.

How does one make millions for the megas when O/O's can't even make 25% of that?

And no one would accept that offer. THat's only half what they actually make.

slav, x1Heavy and Rideandrepair Thank this.

A lot of them are self insured that run their own accounts as freight brokers and logistics they had their own private contracts to supply logistics with everyday commodity plus their own yards and mechanic on sites a lot of them are proxy freight company for mega corporations that use these proxies to cut down on shipping costs.
I did all the numbers i was running as team for a whole year a million and 300,000k yearly.

What books are you reading on becoming a Owner Op? This site should give you just about everything you need to know for free.

Why have you only been home 4 or 5 times in the past 4 years?

You have to understand landstar have accounts everywhere they are a mega freight broker and is in need of o/o the 25% they take is about 30% total because they will accept the lowest bids on loads because people are desperate to make a buck or two they got us all by the balls.

So LS is a mega and does cheap freight, your previous mega made a million dollars a year off of you. Doesn't add up.

Honestly , where do you live? Do you own a truck yet? If you do LS you could go flat bed. It's around 2k a month in deduction s including the 800 month for a step deck. You could just try ltl. Be a feeder driver for UPS for the next 5 weeks make 30 an hour.

Every time one of these crazy threads show up it's ALWAYS a Bobtail Member. LOL

It's probably a group of the same guys who use a VPN to mask their IP address and they create multiple email accounts and pseudonyms.

They must get bored doing a 34 hr reset and post these threads they know will get guys riled up. What's funny is their statements or claims get more outlandish depending on the direction of responses.

I have to admit it is kind of funny sometimes though ;-)
