Damage from sidekit stakes?

The only stakes Ive used were with the Ravens and those are extruded rods that went in a certain way. Once in, all you had then was to put up the foam side panels between them. There was no loading or securement to those.

If your trailer's pockets are getting weaker with load leaning on stakes that aint broken yet, I get confused and need pictures if at all possible from your phone about the situation in particular before I can understand you better. You can transfer the image to paint, save to desk top and then upload direct to here.

 

Steel sidekit? Have you considered wood?

 

Have you considered fabing up a bushing for that area? Fill in with rubber or wood?

 

You can go to an industrial plastics dealer and get thin abrasion resistant material cut into small pieces and afix to trailer with bonding adhesive the hole thing is about 1/8 thick the plastic guys will know what will work best to put under stake.

 

My trailer originally had a sidekit, and has the usual "T" marks worn into it. Unless you attach a wear plate of some kind, it will wear unfortunately.

 

You thinking of something like Mylar? It is good stuff, and is used as a skid / wear plate in many applications. And it can be bent / shaped to a certain form, just by heating with a torch till it's nearly transparent. I have made "L" shaped wear plates with 3/8" thick material before.

 

What kinda trailer? My 1996 has marks from them but no holes!. Or get a well fitted tarp to allow less movement?
