Around here there are bev companies who have every fourth ad on CL, now they are using recruiters, so they aren't going to look too hard. Every question is a minefield when they need drivers. :^)

As long as you have a decent driving record and can pass the drug screen and background you'll be hired..You dont even need to have a clean background at PBC. Dont know about your particular company. PBC hires felons. (one of the many, many reasons I left years ago).
If you get a bulk route and dont have to merchandise that's a good gig. The route driver who have to stock shelves have it bad. That was my first job with a CDL. Way too much work, way too many hours, not enough pay. Not to mention you have to keep your mouth shut when store managers/owners waste your time, are rude to you, etc etc. Got my year in and got the hell out.
PBC was slowly but surely doing away with bulk routes and mixing in bulk stops with gas station routes.
Sounds like your company isnt doing that, or hasn't yet.Russian Rabbit and localguy65 Thank this. -
Not hired on yet.
Interview went well. 50 hours a week right now in the slow period. 57.5 in the busy season.
This position does do merchandising, mostly c-stores and dollar stores. But it will pay enough and I can be home everyday, so I hope I get an offer.
Fuelinmyveins Thanks this. -
Have you heard anything yet?

Nothing yet.
They're interviewing all this week. Probably won't hear anything until next week.SmoothTrucker23 Thanks this. -
Even getting the bulk route isn't going to be gravy forever. When I left the company, one of the key points at the most recent annual AOP meeting was the goal of the company to convert to 100% "geobox". 100% 40ft trailers with liftgates, doing grocery bulk and C&G single serve with modified smaller electric pallet jacks and 100% of orders built on pallets that are only as wide or slightly wider than the jack. The days of a coasting easy bulk route are numbered in PepsiCo's beverage distribution scheme.
