While on 10 hour break/sleeper berth, can DOT interupt to do inspections.

    Sleeping at the rest area at the 194 in Penn on 80 a few years ago they pounded on my truck telling me to move on cause they were doing inspections there .
    Gave him the finger as I left .

    Has nothing to do with the split sleeper provision, because if you don't typically split your break you will not have extra hours after the 8 in the sleeper. We used to only have to take an 8 hour break, so those states with 8 hour limits likely set their law to allow truckers to take their required break but then move along. When the regs were updated to require 10 hours off, those states failed to update their laws to reflect that change.

    no parking
    no standing
    no stopping.

    no parking to me means parking a vehicle and leaving it

    Parking to me is vehicle not in gear, brakes set, nobody at the wheel. May or may not be occupied or running.

    Stopping is with a person at the wheel. May or may not be in gear or have the brakes set, but vehicle is not moving.

    Standing is you, when you're not in the vehice.
