The filter replacement interval can differ per manufacturer. I dont see them replaced very often (as most large fleets have special warranty agreements) but they are cleaned and backed about every 200,000 miles on average. The system, in my experience, doesnt get flushed simply because you constantly have fresh DEF running through the system.

What engine do you have? If it looks like two mufflers side by side then that's also an aftertreatment system that does contain your DPF filter and on or very close by will be the differential pressure sensor if equipped.MartinFromBC Thanks this.

I wonder if it will work if you just put 100% deionized water in the tank.

Isx15 in an international 9900 2017 model yearMartinFromBC Thanks this.

Oh I was referring to def filter and dosing unit. Thinking it must crystallize slowly at the point it injects it into the scr pipe.
My dpf isn't giving me any trouble in about 278000 miles so far (449000km). Occasionally catch it doing regen if I slow down, but that is rare. Never asked for a parked regen yet. Fuel economy not suffering, engine runs good doesn't eat but maybe .5 gallons of oil in 18000 mile changes. Stays gold for first half of that easy.
I have half a mind to pressure wash the dpf can in my driveway. Like in this video.
MartinFromBC and Nothereoften Thank this. -
That’s a lot of DEF. this new International I have with the A26 goes 4000 miles on almost a full tank of DEF, has an eighth left when I fill it up on 4K miles.MartinFromBC Thanks this.

I put about 60 liters in every 1500-2000 miles, also about 15-1600 liters of fuel in the same timeMartinFromBC Thanks this.

I have 3 Macks that use DEF, i call them the 50 into 1500 trucks. Because all 3 are pretty consistent in how much they use, and basically its 50 liters of DEF per 1500 liters of diesel.

Are you trolling me?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm on the road a family member. The sensor should be on top of the canister. I have a 2017 isx15 aftertreatment manual PDF I can message you.Nothereoften Thanks this.
