Sleeping at the rest area at the 194 in Penn on 80 a few years ago they pounded on my truck telling me to move on cause they were doing inspections there .
Gave him the finger as I left .stayinback and KB3MMX Thank this. -
Has nothing to do with the split sleeper provision, because if you don't typically split your break you will not have extra hours after the 8 in the sleeper. We used to only have to take an 8 hour break, so those states with 8 hour limits likely set their law to allow truckers to take their required break but then move along. When the regs were updated to require 10 hours off, those states failed to update their laws to reflect that change.

For the purpose of this discussion define
no parking
no standing
no stopping.
no parking to me means parking a vehicle and leaving it -
Parking to me is vehicle not in gear, brakes set, nobody at the wheel. May or may not be occupied or running.
Stopping is with a person at the wheel. May or may not be in gear or have the brakes set, but vehicle is not moving.
Standing is you, when you're not in the vehice.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -

BY that definition are you parked if you are taking a 10.
Strictly legally speaking of course -
I need to remember that standing is bad.
