Got about 4 inches of snow here in Wisconsin. Headed for the Gateway hoping weather is a little nicer there

Ah, I really don't know then, lol. Those batteries are big business for Musk, what better way to get people to funnel money into your pocket than to remove Big Oil entirely?

 

I agree, 100% electric isn't the answer. Is it possible to scale it down that small, not gain a bunch of weight/lose payload capacity and still make it competitive cost wise? I've not researched it much, so I'm interested in the research.

Hybrid systems would be fantastic, especially if they were applied with a "hill assist" type of feature. Big grade ahead? Hit the "hill assist" button and get an extra 1500 lbft of torque once you get into the bottom of the hill. Batteries will recharge on the way down the other side and on the flat ground.

And if I may add, all they have to do is come up with an idea no matter how, well lets just say stupid it is and show it to a higher up and they justified there employment which inevitably ties the hands of the guy workin in the field!
