Yupp, tried that too... I let it sit for 30 minutes and started it up... and went right to the fan kicking back on... so strange

Truthfully it's probably just something very simple and stupid but will take hours to find. Just our luck right? On a bright note I guess you can look at it in a positive way and say well better to have it on 24/7 then not working at all lol

Just out of curiosity the 880 has electric fan clutch right? There is a fan clutch although I don't think it's used anymore, I can't remember the exact name of the particular fan clutch however it use thick fluid, honestly it worked in about the same way as a torque converter. I know then types if they would fail they could fail in the lock position causing the fan to continuously run. Just a thought

I'll let you guys know what it is as soon as I get it in cause I've tried everything

Best thing to do is to have a clutch fan pre-ordered and waiting for you at the repair facility of your choosing. That is the broken part that needs replacing. As for the two cel's, a mechanic will have to diagnose that.
Waiting for breakdown repairs is part of trucking. Like drivers going into the store when they should be ready to pull forward at the fuel island, this is a sucky trucky reality. I hope you sleep well tonight.

I've got a 16' 660 with the fan going through random bouts of on and off cycling. Kenworth can't figure it out or hasn't tried hard enough. Update us on the repair, thanks for sharing.

Don't know if you're still having this problem, but I had a similar problem and this is what I ended up doing:

    I have a 2013 T800 with an ISX 15.

Fan would go on almost constantly. Run 20 minutes, shut off just long enough for the fan light on the dash to go off then start up again. My problem ended up being the high pressure switch for the air conditioner. Went to a Freightliner dealer, described problem to the service manager, and he immediately suggested removing the lead to the high pressure switch, strapping it with a paper clip, and see what happens. Well, that stopped the fan problem. Went to a Pete dealer, got a new switch, and haven't had a problem since.

Now, I didn't get any codes with mine, so that may not be your problem, but it's worth a try.

    speedyk Thanks this.

Sorry I didnt follow up sooner... been super busy but I told myself the following day that I was gonna take it to a kw dealer and wouldnt you just guess that the #### codes went away AND the fan shuts off literally as I'm 10 minutes away from the dealer. Now this was about 3 weeks ago. This problem has not occurred since... so I'm not 100% sure as to what the problem was
