The agency folks and tribe personnel did the willow cutting and fish salvage/pit tagging. The rest was our crew.

Yes, spawning and habitat. The stream had been straightened during mining operations in years past. It didn't look bad but did not provide good habitat (pools, glides, riffles). The three species of concern were Chinook Salmon, Steelhead Trout (anadromous or ocean going rainbow trout), and Pacific Lamprey, which are the eel looking critters. These are all listed (Endangered species, or species of concern), and hence there are funds available for restoration.
