If you lived where I live. I would say you're knocking down some good money.

But if you live in Compton, CA or Elizabeth, NJ. I would say you need some kind of public assistance.

I actually delivered to the Myrtle terminal yesterday. Man was that spooky. The dock employees are getting 20 hours a week.

I wish things had worked out differant with W&S, but it didn't. And it appears to be working out fine at my new job.

So all is right with the world.

What is spooky is all the yards I see around N. Atlanta metro area with people's belongings on it. Next day or so there will be a dumpster with the stuff put in it.
All my subcontractors had been calling me asking if I had any jobs for them, until I told them we'd shut the doors...except my floor guys.
Seems that with all the evictions and foreclosures, they are swamped.
I'm still trying not to become one of the dumpster people.

 

We're looking at a few dumpster people here. And I might add, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of individuals.

We have so many empty rental homes and apartments, the owners are being forced to sell things. Which is a good thing IMHO.

They rented to illegals at inflated rates. Forcing the real residents to pay inflated rates, due to housing shortages.

That's no longer the case. The illegals are gone, the newly weds have moved in with parents. And Mr Greedy, had to sell 3 rental units last week to pay his outstanding note at the bank.

The locals won't rent from 3 certian individuals here anymore.

But they will buy...at reduced rates

 

Nawlin's we werent even complaining about the driving part. It was some of the Chitty loads for certain customers. If you want to play big trucker, I back more docks in a day with a T/T than you do a month with your OTR gig.

 

Danc: At least something good has come of it all. In Miss. I would expect that they didn't even notice the 'recession' at all, at least if you live in the Delta. But I'd really hate to live in Memphis right now. (or ever...)
Just try and tell someone with many skills, several months of job hunting and no job that we're in a 'recession'! Especially if all his stuff is in a dumpster; that includes some truckers.

 

hello everyone. new member, but have been o/o with w/s for 9 years. i would say through slow times and good times w/s is a good about giving u steady miles if u r willing to change your traffic lanes a little during slow times.met alot of good people here. they know your name not just your trk or driver #.they have o/o that have been here over 20yrs.that says alot about a company.

 

Man all i have read is good about WS.... I am filling out an App as I type this. I finish school in 4 weeks and hopefully I get picked up by WS.....Ill keep yall posted
