hi, on my digital dash display it would show the gears. This is an automatic trans. (Yes I can drive a stick. I drove a manual for over a year before being put into this thing) it is not showing the gears anymore it just shows the number 25. And no option to change this. Why is it showing 25 and not the gears?

I drove our '19 LT at work and it did same thing other day. I turned the truck off for about 3 mins and restarted it. Asked the international dealer and the mechanic said the Ecm's aren't all that great in those trucks and need to be reset. As long as it's not shutting off or you are losing power or other important guages just drive it. Did it twice in one night with me.

    TruckingSexy Thanks this.

25 Is an actual fail code so for some reason or another there is something wrong with truck and or trans and it is flashing that code i have seen it in volvo and frl many times something programmed from eaton i believe.

Nope. Nothing else just the number 25 on the digital display.

Sounds familiar. Is that the code that comes up when transmission no longer will go into Reverse?

try this and see what happens...
    Retrieving Fault Codes
    1. Place the shift lever in neutral.
    2. Set the parking brake.
    3. Turn the ignition key ON but do not start the engine. If the engine is already running, you may still retrieve codes, however, do not engage the starter if engine stalls.
    4. To Retrieve Active Codes: Start with the key in the ON position. Turn the key OFF and ON two times within five seconds ending with the key in the ON position. After five seconds, the gear display begins flashing two-digit fault codes. If there are no active codes the gear display will show code 25, followed by PD (Product Diagnostic mode). The vehicle will not start in PD mode. You must turn vehicle key OFF and allow the system to power down to exit PD mode before restarting. To start engine turn key off and wait for the transmission to power down.
    5. To Retrieve Inactive Codes: Start with the key in the ON position. Turn the key OFF and ON four times within five seconds ending with the key in the ON position. After five seconds, the gear display begins flashing two-digit fault codes. If no codes are active, the gear display will flash code 25 (no codes).
    6. Two digit fault codes will be displayed in the gear display. Record the codes. A one or two second pause separates each stored code, and the sequence automatically repeats after all codes have been flashed.

If a number other than 25 appears then tell us what the number is... If 25 still stays on the dash then do this

    Clearing Fault Codes
    1. Start with the key in the ON position. Turn the key OFF and ON six times within five seconds, ending with the key in the ON position. Note: If the codes have been successfully cleared, the service lamp will come on and stay on for five seconds.
    2. Turn the key OFF and allow system to power down.

    Jazz1, magoo68 and REO6205 Thank this.

I seen this on a truck years ago. Only the stealership could fix it in my scenario. If you are a company driver have them fix it while you relax and take breakdown pay.
