“Pwease my corporate master, may I run a CB radio?”
No! You can only use the electronic gadgets that we approve!whoopNride, Slowpoke KW, 1951 ford and 21 others Thank this. -
LOL.... corporate master needs to run Pine mountain in KY with a loaded lowboy, and reminded communicating with other trucks is a must!
Zeviander, whoopNride, Slowpoke KW and 17 others Thank this. -
Yep. But for us it’s just as important on location. Just like right now we’ve got nearly a dozen trucks sittin on this location. When it comes time to unload, it can be a mess cuz it’s tight quarters.
Coordinator: “I need two 100 mesh trucks on Alpha 5, and a 40/70 on Charlie 2.”
“Hey Big Rigger, can ya pull up just a hair so I can get around ya?”
“Sand Hog, you got room here if ya need it.”
“Come on back Ace, I’ll spot ya.”
It’d be a complete disaster without everyone havin a radio.Al. Roper, Zeviander, whoopNride and 25 others Thank this. -
Exactly. The lease roads we run are skinny and sometimes real hilly. Sometimes you don’t see that truck coming out until you’re both face to face in a spot too tight to pass.
I’ve said it before but I’ll repeat it. Being in a group of trucks without a radio is like being in a group of Men but you can’t hear or speak.Al. Roper, Zeviander, whoopNride and 24 others Thank this. -
13 speed, dd15 at 475, disc all around, could not find out hours cause the battery was dead, former loves truck, had what I'm guessing was stuff related to the meter for the tank in the passenger floor board. Overall not in bad shape, not the cleanest nor the worst truck I've looked at in the last few months.

Last time I was on Pine Mtn I was pulling a Talbert triaxle beam trailer. I was communicating with a tanker as he all but cleaned the ditch out on my side with his left steer tire, all so he could keep his trailer on the edge. Aggravating at times but its a needed tool at times too, -
