A Quebec truck driver has been found guilty of multiple counts of dangerous driving in relation to a 2015 multi-vehicle crash in Whitby that killed four and injured 11.

Mohinder Singh Saini, 75, has been convicted of four counts of dangerous driving causing death and nine counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
The collision happened nearly three years ago on Oct. 2 on Hwy. 401 westbound, east of Lake Ridge Road.


Three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital two days later.
Eleven people were also injured.


The crash involved 21 vehicles, including three commercial transport trucks that sustained significant damage.


Police have identified the victims as Carl Laws, 67, and Jacqueline Laws, 63, of Pickering. The two boys were identified as Jesus Alberto Duran-Florez, 12, and Cuauhtemoc Duran-Florez, 10, from Mexico.
Saini will return to court Oct. 5 for victim impact statements and again on Nov. 9 for sentencing.

Ontario police says fatal transport truck crashes up in 2018

The drivers charged in connection with the fatal collisions from this past summer are as follows:

• Baljinder Singh, 56, of Brampton is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of causing death by criminal negligence in connection with the Aug. 3 crash.
• Manjit Parmarm, 54, of Brampton, is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and three counts dangerous of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm in connection with the July 30 crash.
• Jatheeson Krishnamoorthy, 31, of Scarborough, is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and one count of dangerous driving in connection with the July 27 crash.

I am not the only one who sees the connection

 

I can find plenty of news stories where rednecks from Alabama and Georgia caused a number of truck-related fatalities in the US. So where does that leave your implication?

All cases of big truck drivers charged with causing death right now are cut from the same cloth

Welp, Im unparalleled,And Have been about this for awhile.

When I entered trucking(Probably about same time as you).. This was a job for the American Family Man with Pride. It was mostly a White and Black ethicized occupation.

In 1990 and beyond- Refugees from Yugoslavia began coming here in Droves because of the War between Croatia and Serbia.......

They starting coming here and became either- cCarpet Cleaners-or Truck Drivers..

Now,Its 28 years later- The True American Trucker has been Buried in the Sand, Everyone's Become Selfish and in a hurry.

I would be fine with it- But they Do not communicate with us- (CB radio or in person at truckstops etc)

This is exactly the issue in northern Ontario. No communication, stupid risk taking driving and the result is lots of crashes, often deadly. If they would collect the data on who is crashing the results would blow your mind. That would be racist though.

It isn't considered racist or sexist for an insurance company to charge more for a young male to drive, because yes we do some really dumb things at that age and screw up a lot.

If I had a boatload of cash I would start an insurance company and rate drivers based on all information and give rates accordingly. Put that in your pipe and smoke it justin, our cry baby of a "leader."
