I only expected to be out of work a month after surgery . This is my 3rd week so I called my doctor's office and told them my employer will need advance notice of my release date so I can be scheduled for work . They called back and told me the doctor has me scheduled for a 6th week checkup March 30th . He won't o.k. me for work before then . :biggrin_25516:

I e-mailed my terminal manager to inform him of this and he responded saying he is glad my recovery is going well and they look forward to having me back . At least I work for good people and my job is secure .

Sure is getting boring around here . You guys help make things bearable . I still can't lift over 10 lbs. for another week . Last time I saw the laundry basket it was on a bathroom scale . :biggrin_2551:

I can understand you are getting antsy! I had a very hard time with my restrictions after getting my appendix removed. Drove me batty! Sounds like it's time to find a hobby.

    Rick,

I was on the ten pound limit also, but if I felt comfortable I went ahead and lifted a little more. Not knowing you and your condition, I would not recommend that. I do know that after two weeks I was completely bonkers. I washed everything in the house including blankets and curtains; swept my garage floor so often the floor needs repainting; re-arranged kitchen cabinets; and made an absolute nuisance of myself. My wife now claims I am OCD. I almost forgot, I also grabbed a can of paint and repainted all the base boards.

Glad to hear your doing well.
