Idont have the wire numbers and yes it would be the green connector in the center pf the dash

 

if you got two wire speedo, spped signal wires run to ECM, ECM sends it by J1708 to Driver's Display, driver's display sends it to instrumental cluster

 

I tried to post something earlier about my 1999 volvo vn truck. Not sure it went threw and had a lot of errors in the post. Instrument cluster just stoped working. Says check data link and check cab data link. No data. No gauges for anything. Could it be my plug behind instrument panel? Where do I start looking, relays fuses possibly also??

 

On 1999 VN with Cummins N-14 the cluster is using data link J1587-1708 only, no J-1939 available on N-14 engine.
Question : Is the RPM , Oil pressure and Water temp gauges are working fine in thew cluster ?
If so, is the cruise control on the road is working ?
If the answer are yes, i recommand you to recalibrate the Engine ECU with the same calibration even though you can see the vehicule speed in the Cummins Insite Tool screen during a road test, i saw this problem many times always for a speedo not working.

Cruise control works just fine. No water temp, from mph fuel level or anything else besides air peeasure. No mileage in little center screen

 

Do you know if that cluster has been replace yet ? Because the serial number of the truck should be programed inside of the cluster. The cluster include two computer. The LH side is called Mid 234 and central is Mid 140. The Mid 234 is controling the Mid 140. The serial number of the truck should be read inside of the Mid 234
