Tractor will not detach from trailer

Do you have a manual release or pneumatic air cylinder?

 

but really is it cold where you are. lower legs down too they touch. drop air bags or crank a couple more turns. little trick is to roll down legs and crank a couple turns till u hear air. then back just the truck up and set the brakes. dont let it roll forward before. then try and pull fifth wheel.

 

Is your 5th wheel release handle not holding and when you try and detach the jaws close?

 

It might be a mechanical failure can you see if the jaws have released? You might need someone to pull and hold the handle while you pull out.

 

Might be one of those goofy 5th wheels where the handle has to be pulled up or down then out? Or is it the other way around.... pulled then locked in a notch up or down? I cant remember. I know I struggled with one once, and it won. Cus I went flying and landed on my ###.
