in the end , 4 locals and 1 law officee showed up. a pry bar didn't work either.

2 locals worked ob removing the panel while the other two stopped traffic which was mainly logging and chip trucks. my only job was to remain where I parked to block her path into a danger zone.

Just so people know many hunters have been hurt when the deer they think was dead started kicking their hooves are sharp and can do serious damage to you... best plan is let a professional handle it

I'd most likely stop & try to get it free if at all possible. If not, I'd call 911 & see if I could get someone out to help. I am a big animal person. I love animals.
I've got some pictures around here somewhere that I took with my phone from when I was squirrel hunting & come up on a doe that wasn't moving. At a distance, I thought it was an old BBQ grill. I kept easing up until I got close enough to put my hands on her. She had a fawn's head & front feet sticking out & was stuck. It had been that way for a few days because it was smelling. I tried to pull it out & help her but it wouldn't budge. I called 911 but no game warden was available. So I called the only emergency vet clinic in the area & talked to the vet. He said if I could get her in my truck, he'd do a c-section on her at the office, but I knew I'd never get her in the truck much less keep her from jumping out going down the road.
He said since it was already smelling, it wouldn't be long before the coyotes would take her down & would be a horrible death & said the humane thing to do was shoot her. I really hated to but I knew it was the best thing to do.
I'll post the pic here if I can find them this weekend.

As a avid outdoorsman I would first take a picture then most certainly do what ever it took to set her free. I would have blocked the entire road until I got her out of there.
