No biggie. An I don't exactly need something brand new for the exact reasons you just stated. My insurance currently is $188 a month. I'm pretty sure with a brand new truck it would skyrocket. I'd just prefer something without Emissions on it. All this emissions trash is running me into the ground. I live in Tampa, Florida. I can run up and down I-10, I-75 an I-95 all day long in a fair older truck and make great money. Yeah, I understand every vehicle will require maintenance and I don't mind handing over those funds if it's for a vehicle I enjoy driving. You think I'm enjoying driving this 2012 Peterbilt 587 I have now with all the emissions trash on it? Majority of the people on this thread literally bypassed my main question for even posting this post. ----> A or B <-----

Short answer is to buy a glider and call it a day.
I’m also thinking the same thing for myself.

I will tell you what, I would be back on that fence rail I sat on the past 4 years if I was only left with the option of now buying a brand new truck right now.

This economy is winding down again and signs like GM closing up their car plants is a sure sign

My best buddy is a 35 year veteran of the GM truck plant and they are running limited lines right now with impending layoffs happening after the first of the year.

It was a good run and there might still be some big fish to slaughter out there for the guys who have their rigs together and have the game down.

But I sure wouldn’t want to go fishing with a 160 thousand dollar payment needing to be met monthly .

What are you hauling down in Florida?

What kind of rates are you getting?

I'm dry van, so besides perishables, a lil bit of everything. An I rarely haul FL to FL, but when I do it's reasonable. Orlando to Crystal paying about $200. Nothing to get rich on.

LMAO! I'm not. "Tommymonza" was the one who mentioned something about a $160,000 truck cost. I'm perfectly fine with a $1,100 a month truck payment. I don't run strictly Florida. I run I-10, 75 an 95 all day long.
