As a side question, for my own edification someone please provide a short on what is this New Canadian Eh?
Im sorry I am a American who likes to tease our dear neighbors up north once in a while, but to not know anything about a particular trend is a real problem.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds

Immigrants from a vastly different culture who our leaders can't seem to get enough of, come here setup trucking companies don't follow any of the rules, drive like they did in their home country, and pull stunts like they did to the o.p. To top it all off, enforcement turns a blind eye, because in past, enforcement gets claims against them for discrimination, and it holds up. Ignoring the evidence of trucks with numerous blatant violations that doesn't mean anything.
For starters. -
I'm going on the prowl today and just going to say it. Indians own 60% of the trucking industry here in canada. They have a monopoly on driver pay, which is basically a tax loopholet that hasn't been fixed by the government for years. You can claim expenses in your taxes as if you were an owner operator even though you're a company driver. So driver take home pay is way more higher than it should be. They call it "incorporated". Nearly every company that isn't a mega carrier uses this kind of pay system. It's hard to find a company that does most of your tax deductions for you. So let's say I make $3500 before tax, as incorporated I will make $3500 and will deduct my own taxes. As a company driver I will make $2700 because the company deducted my taxes for me. It's kind of complicated. It takes liability off a company in case of an accident. You will be sued and the company won't be.
Not just Indians doing it, many other people doing it to.
As an Indian born in Canada, I must say our industry is totally ####ed.
I went to apply for a company today and when I read the contract it was absurd. I have to pay for charges if I'm late for a delivery, I have to pay for damages to a truck or trailer if it's damaged, I have to pay for the load if I lose the bill of lading.
All this being charged to me as if I was an owner operator even though I'm a company driver. Turned the job down the same hour. -
An incorporated driver in Canada is similar to 1099 driver in USA. Same idea.

File a complaint of theft with the local police?
Canadianhauler21 Thanks this. -
Make sure you do report the cabatoge violations to the feds otherwise you could personally face full prosecution for your participation in those violations. Seek a lawyer prior to reporting the violations.
Report any theft of property to the RCMP, and file a lawsuit for the stolen property.
Report the full names and company names of the criminals on this forum, so that nobody else gets hurt.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this. -
Things are slowly starting to change. Most of the time when driving past MOT scales in Ontario, they have a lot of white aerocabs pulling beat up van trailers with high DOT numbers all lined up for inspection. Aside from their obvious gold mine of oversize trucks, they are seemingly targeting the new Canadians now, because they know about how easy it is to nail them on anything.Jazz1, x1Heavy, BigHossVolvo and 1 other person Thank this.
