hello fellow truckers, recently informed carrier that I am going on my own come jan 1 (authority) and he "all of a sudden" changes the passwords to the load boards and doesn't answer phone. no I don't owe him anything and we are a small group of oo (4) that have been running under his numbers paying 15%. how do we go about getting money for the loads we have already run? btw I offered to still pay insurance for the month of dec. no other reason other than the fact that we are leaving is he angry and being spiteful. again any info would be appreciated.

Take him to court. But 1st talk to an attorney, a letter from bim may be enough to get you paid. If not a judge will settle the score

Google. Preferably one in the same town as the person lives.

Would you pay more attention to a letter from a lawyer in your hometown or a few hundred miles away?

You are one business working with another business. If they did not break a contract, there is little to do.
Even if they owe you money, you will have to produce receipt, contract, or something for the court to rule on.

I would suggest simply getting a lawyer to draft a letter to pay up or get sued. If you can, follow through of course.
