plus a lot of customers, (not all) but al lot don't have docks. so your using a manual pallet jack to move 3000 pounds to the back of trailer to unload or load. not every customer is on level ground.

Yeah, local work isn't all what it's made out to be. I tried it and realized for as long as I choose to drive trucks I will not have a normal life. I would rather be on the road and then spend 7-10 days vacation at home then come home just to shower, eat and sleep and do it all over again. Plus, let's be honest. At home you might have distractions and issues that might cut into your sleep... then you go work a 14 hr shift on 5-6 hours of sleep.. not fun.

I have been with Holland for almost a month. Did flatbed for Melton and western express Before I went to Holland so far everything they have said is correct I have only done 7 loads but I'm over 13 thousand miles already in 4 weeks .first two loads we're north Dakota to los Angeles .Los Angeles to up state new york just to turn right around and go back to los Angeles . Been paid on time don't get tons of messages .it's very nice to just sit and drive and not be micro managed

When I deliver buffalo Monday night I’ll be right at 4,000 miles for the 7 day first half with maybe a half day carry over. Been running up to or very near the 70 every day for at least the past 14 days. So yeah. I watch my minutes and do just enough to keep safety off my back. Have 4 clean level 2 and 3s this year.
FWIW Safety may be looking a little harder at logging practices than years past but they’re not unreasonable.Last edited: Dec 9, 2018
