I have been prehired by them and was just curious about their hometime. Also, Do they really give 2500 miles per week? Has anyone been to their orientation? I have been prehired by about 5 companies and have found quite a bit of information on all of them except American Eagle. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

They are an okay company. I left them over unsafe load scheduling on "ho" loads. They would book them with insufficient time to deliver on time (which is a must on a "hot" load) and then expect you to go non-stop to deliver. My manager was great. As for miles, I only had one week in excess of 2,500. The rest were more in the neighborhood of 1,900 to 2,000.
As for their orientation, it is actually an FFE orientation and then they hold a one hour at the end of it for AE drivers. The motel is not too bad. I have stayed in better Red Roof Inn's. Just need to be out there for the shuttle early so you don't have to wait through several runs because the shuttle does Gainey, FFE and Conway. -
Thanks for the information. What about the hometime?

I am a student as well and would be delighted to know the procedure of 'prehire' Any thoughts to share? Thanks!!

HI There!! Basically I have filled out applications on a few web sites and have heard back from several companies such as Usa Truck, American Eagle Lines, Transport America. They then sent me a prehire or also called preapproval letter. The school I'm going to go through also requires me to have 2 prehires before I can start.

As for hometime, it depends on where you live. It can be either 2 or 3 weeks out with a day off for each. I will say that they did get me home when I needed to be there for an appointment.

well, american eagle is part of the ffe group. all the compies in the group run the same. it's a good place to get your experiance but you have got to watch your money. they will try to cheat you out out 50% of your wages if your not watching.

oh boy, where do i start. we have been with them for over a year now. we got a letter saying their taking away holiday pay. the miles suck. you can get home easy enough, but hard getting back out. you have to fight for your layover pay tooth and nail! they are hoping you'll forget about it i guess. you have to fight over your reimbersments, they seem to get taken two maybe three times. after 4 weeks of getting screwd on our pay , we are looking for another job. i dont suggest this company. something is going on with them and it isnt good.

update: I suppose they got their act together as of late. Gave hubby a good raise, get him plenty of miles now. Gave him a new truck too. So we stayed with them to see if it would get better and it did. I guess they are no worse than the other companies out there. In todays economy crisis, We thank the Lord everyday we have a job.
