So at 4:00 PM yesterday I was "assured" by the customer my wing would be "ready" at 8:00 AM this morning. I sat there debating with myself if I should take their word and go or take history and spend another night on my Sleep Number bed. In the end I tossed a quarter and left.
I walk in at 7:15 this morning to see if they were ready to start the lift. There's my wing, in the jig, all pretty and green. In other words, they hadn't even started wrapping it so apparently when they said it would be ready at 8:00 am they meant "ready to wrap" not ready to load.
Got it loaded at 2 this afternoon with 4 pilot cars getting restless. However they didn't have the FAA paperwork ready but would "soon". They asked what time I have to leave by, I respond 3:30 and not a minute later. Guess what, they come out at 3:32 with paperwork. Pilots are at the hotel and I'm still sitting here. 3:30 MEANS 3:30 not 3:30ish. At some point there comes a time to draw a line in the sand. If you ask "what time" and get an answer then don't expect that to be a moving line. -
If it has a trans cooler new lines and if it’s water cooled switch to air cooled.cke, Crusader66, PoleCrusher and 10 others Thank this.

I did!
On the shop track about 3 am
My brother in law was night duty shop foreman at CP rail Regina SK and I used to hang out a bit. he had to fuel a 2 engine set for a milk-run and found them on a back shop track and had 5 or 6 switches to move through to get to the fuel track. there where 3 switch-units to move out of the way to get there and only had 2 hours to get it done. I got a 2 minute lesson on switch engines and he set switches and i moved them where he aimed me. I had a blast.
He got a reprimand when a line engineer complained, he heard about it and grieved to a shop steward.Last edited: Dec 10, 2018
