I’m going to truck driving school Jan 7th is there any pointers anyone can give me to get through the process. I’m going through a school with schneider trucking. I have read and watched that the parallel parking is the hardest part of obtaining the cdl. I have read reviews on the school I’m attending it has all positive reviews.
Hello all, starting school with Schneider and need pointers.

You know what, they never made us do parallel parking in cdl school. But the funny thing is, I can do it in a semi better than i can in my car.

It is what anyone who wants to get into the industry now has to do. This aint the good old days when your grandpa, uncle, older brother or dad taught you how to drive by beating you with his cane or other handy stick. How many times have we heard that "school of hard knocks training method proudly bragged about by many "old skool" guys. "My uncle taught me to drive. He sat in the jumpseat, and iffin I so much as scratched a gear, why he whacked the tar out of me with his cane! After 3 days of that, he threw me the dad-burned keys and told me to get that there load a swinging meat to the Windy pronto"! Driving schools arent really a new thing. I have been driving 26 years and went to a tech school driving course. But then I did not have a stick wielding father figure already in the industry to teach me. BTW, Jerry Reed was an awesome actor, comedian and singer back in the day. But he never actually drove a truck.Last edited: Dec 14, 2018
