I’m looking into a linehaul position with them in San Marcos, CA, or possibly even in Eureka, CA.
I want to get back to LTL (worked for GSO for a while) and also start using my HazMat endorsement.
The listing for the San Marcos position: Truck Driver - Home Daily! My question is what do they mean by “Line Haul Drivers earn $24.50 per hour for dock work”? $24.50 when I’m not driving and then something else when I am?

Central Transport is always hiring around my area. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing...lol.
Linehaul around my area pays by the load. Trip pay. Sorta like R+L. You get paid $27.50 for dock work...but cost of living probably has to do with hourly pay. P&D you get paid OT after 55 hours. Trucks are governed around 63 mph. Decent pay...around $1500 per week. Equipment looks like junk though...lol.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I keep getting emails from this company. They are offering $15,000 sign on bonus for linehaul position. I googled them and found this thread.

Yeah I don't know about Central Transport. They do have newer equipment now, but for a long time they were the rock bottom of the LTL Truck Carriers.Chinatown and EuropeanTrucker Thank this.

That’s what I read. I’m doing OTR now and kind of like night driving. I also would like to be home more often.
They need drivers for linehaul position (night shift ) from terminal to terminal with some dockwork (which I dont mind).

Central transport is been hiring throughout the year, just like southeastern. That alone tells me drivers dont last. Good thing central transport has improved on their equipment, still better equipment and pay than central freight
