Cereal doesn't need a cooler, but the milk would.
You can easily fit 5 days worth with that kind of menu.

When I tried an ice cooler, I bought a plastic tube from Pet Department usually used in aquariums. I used it as a siphon letting the tube suck the water out the door or side box.

I have an igloo and no fridge. I ran a rubber hose from the drain to the back of the door. Never have to take it out. Have one of those big ice places that sells a huge bag for $2.00. Works pretty well. The empty bag makes a good trash bag. Just use Tupperware to keep things from getting wet.

Go with the 40. You can always pack less. If you go with a smaller one. You’ll pack more in the second one you buy.

I’ve always used the 40. I’ve never filled it entirely. I try to keep things organized so that I can get what I want quickly, and shut it. You can’t do that if you have it packed completely.

I slip seated for awhile. It’s not really an issue when moving it.

Another thing to watch out for regardless what brand of cooler you use is to make sure the plug on the cooler fits nice and tight in the outlet. If it shakes loose you get a loose connection and a meltedplug

Or use one of those splitter things to isolate it
