Still a few out there. I had to change mine just a couple of weeks ago. Just so I could run OTR.
Wasn’t a real issue for me since I actually own a home in that state. But I’m seeing more and more companies require it. Especially if a driver is currently residing on the west coast.
True OTR is being phased out with most companies. Blame that on whoever you would like. But they’re trying to accommodate more home time to attract more drivers. -
Yea because drivers today need to have their hand held to do anything...

From my little bit of experience as a company driver I haven't had any luck getting as anything over 1200 miles. Mostly loads around 500 miles. All my pick ups and deliveries made on time. I've just been kept in the midwest since that is where my license is issued from. I stay out 4-5 wks at a time running otr and have been only staying around TX, GA, IN, OH and WI.

I'd love to go coast to coast or any where in the lower 48 but want to be able to mix it up, not run regional and told its otr.
