Construction/oilfield work its deff needed but even regular otr I'd still have one just to hear stuff going on around you. Consider it a safety tool

I always have mine... Its on most of the time. And it has saved my tail more than once. Especially in bad weather during the winter months... "Hey westbound at the xxx yardstick there's a rig jack-knifed, just out of sight around the bend. You need the Monfort lane. Take it slow looks like it might be a tight sqeeze getting around it."
Had I not had that radio on or that old timer hadn't gave a shout... Well I'd probably been joining that other rig, or what was left of it.SheepDog, FishinTexas, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you tell the broker you got one they will definitely increase the rate

I only turn mine on during bad weather or a traffic incident; other than that. Its off: but, it is worth having for those instances!
