loose leaf..... They kept flying out the window.....
We qualify for the ag exemption(s). That's plenty enough extra time on a driver. With all the darn cameras and data sharing between coops around here, there's not a lot of wiggle room.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
What's an ELD???
We ain't got time for those gadgets around here
-
Especially if your on a toll road it better match up
-
Today the boss can't book any load and tell drivers to make it work because that how you get paid by the mile. They actually have do some planning or pay the price because we get 10 hours off after working all day.

You just run a legal HOS.
Im pretty sure you can establish a virtual machine wirelessly hosted on your laptop in the cab that simply has the monitor off. That way when trooper connects to the dongle he is actually connecting to a carefully made look alike for your laptop remote and it should behave exactly as expected by the trooper during this virtual machine session.
Easy as pie. Trooper is within the what he thinks is the world of ELD. Except that the data is built by you. The real data is not accessed within the tractor.
That's alot of work. It's silly. Just run legal and you have nothing to worry about. And that includes being able to do 85 in Texas for the speed limit and 75 here in Arkansas, when our highway signs go up and 65 Rural which is pretty durn fast.bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
I’m on paper, but I know a few people that have figured out how to do it. It will pass a roadside inspection, but if they get audited they’re screwed.Canadianhauler21, 91B20H8 and bottomdumpin Thank this.

They'll get audited eventually. If there's a pattern of running over HOS they'll be on a list somewhere and they'll get watched and checked more often.
All this talk about how to get around the ELDs is pointless. When a bunch of cops get together, and they do, what do you think they talk about? What's their main topic of conversation?
Right. They talk about ways to catch the guys that are coming up with what they think are new ways to break the rules.
Sooner or later they'll get busted. The cops enjoy the game and they have all the time and resources to play it to their advantage.
Run legal. It's not that hard to do.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
It used to be when they asked for a log book you told them the truth "I don't have one" Log book tickets were cheap and you just paid them. They wouldn't even put you out, you just took your ticket and went on your way. When you got stopped for speeding you told you didn't have a log book and they give a ticket for that instead of speeding. It was kind of funny when they would say "If it's behind thats OK I just need to see it" and you would have to tell them you really don't have one at all. There was a couple that didn't find it funny though, usually the DOT cop.

There were times you told the Police man, So SOLLY!! NO Logs at all today, left the #### brief case at the yard. What that other one? I bought it at the yard sale on the road this way some hours ago. Took the 35 dollar ticket or whateer, rather than be placed OOS for the seriously outrageous violation burning a hole in the sheet steel floor of the sleeper. When challenged on the forms, fuel etc Well the fuel went out on the courier pack over lunch and the papers too. Did you not see me walk across this coop lot from the OTHER company truck driver you have also visiting with extra forms I borrowed from him 10 minutes ago? (And he will collaborate what happened.)
That does not mean whoo hoo I got away with it. Once you got past the yelling from those in Dispatcher who depended on you to be in cincy in a couple of hours laws be darned were the ones who gave the most trouble. Eventually even they shut up and ran legal. Sorta.
Work a little bit, choose where you like your 10 hours off and get to it right quick. It cannot be easier.
