Yes this country has seen hard times...but people today are different than the ones that went thru the depression, and so are our leaders.. there are more people to feed and create jobs for.....
The populations are growing and the resources are dwindling.....some countries that
are in dire need may come one day to the conclusion that taking what they want will be better than just dieing off...and this country though strong may be faced with a
nation that feels that we still have something they want and can use, this is the
dangerous facts we have to face......this is when the poop will hit the fan for everyone.
Most important of all I feel that all our reps in the government have to come together and stop all this infighting and resolve the issues at hand!
It is not about REPUBLICAN/DEMOCRAT/LIBERAL/CONSERVATIVE/BLACK/WHITE/YELLOW/RED/JEW/GENTILE OR MUSLIM......it is about OUR survival... TOGETHER.
Rush Limbaugh has many good points to his rants, but he is a divider..not a uniter.

I don't know if our people or leaders are different or not. I don't think this will be as bad as the great depression because our banking structure is much more stable. This sounds stupid because of all of the banks going under and the bailouts and whatnot. Still, there aren't 'runs' on banks, due to the FDIC and other banking regulations.

Rush is an entertainer and he is the first to admit that. The danger comes when people don't realize that and think of him as some kind of leader. You can't make policy from behind a microphone, with an army of call screeners, a seven second delay and a dump button. Same thing goes for Kieth Olberman on the left.

Ok I know I have stated my opinion on this before but please allow me to say it again. The only way out of this mess is a balanced budget. Obviously those in Washington are not equipped to do this so they need to get people up there that have the no how to get it done. The true middle class and slipped into the lower middle class knocking on poverty's door! Some of us have had to limit what we buy to live ie, we not longer eat ribeye dinners once week , we now have hamburger helper 3 days a week. Let satelitte go and deal w/ cable. Stop running around town to see our friends and family instead we call to keep in touch. Just to make that almighty dollar strecth a little more. A mother that can do that can surely balance the national budget starting w/ salaries. We pay are rep up there millions of dollars a year for what? Oh yea make us worry if we are gonna be able to get that Hamburger Helper next week while the whole time their kids are in private schools, they eat filet migon 2 or 3 times a week, they buy a new pair of shoes just because they want them or their kids will be made fun of it they don't have what the "Jones'" have! While some hit the thrift stores and hope that have something that doesn't have holes in that will do till more money starts coming in. They need to come to the common people that they serve and say what can we do to help you out in the long term. I bet my husband next $300 paycheck no one will say "Don't worry about us, but make sure that CEO that gave up his million dollar bonus save his house!" I'm not asking for any money from the government myself because they will just tax it to death and get it back anyway. All I want is a stable job market where everyone knows they have a job that will last as long as they perform up to the company standards. I ask you is that to much for a mother of two to want after looking for a job for more than 2 years now?

Have a great day boys and hold it between the yellow lines!!!!!!!!!

Not at all, it's all everyone wants....a job and money to have to spend if and when we want something, and to have the money to spend on our kids.....
Now the establishment is beginning to doubt Obamas abilities to do what he has said he would do.....that is not good, four years of this and we will be in the crapper...
especially if our enemies feel that he is incapable of doing his job.
All this is due to the fact that we do not have better qualified candidates for the office of President.

The biggest difference between this one and the "Great Depression" is pretty simple. The large coorporations and banks have safeguards protecting them. There are no safeguards for the working poor and we haven't done enough to make sure that we survive. I think that will change, but not as nuch as need be. Back in the days of the great depression, folks knew how to take care of themselves. Growing and hunting their own foods was basic survival. These days, if you shoot something (wild game) out of season, they darn near linch you. This could be an interesting haul!
