Putting new fuel tanks on today... Does anyone know if 1-2" fore/aft makes much difference in the steer weight? I've never had the truck on the road, so no clue how heavy the steers were w/full fuel originally, but it's a lot easier to slide tanks back and forth when they're empty lol. I have it back about 1.5" to make fueling a little easier.

Sounds like bad news for @snowman_w900 . You might need to scrape the rainbow sticker off the bumper.

I wouldn't think it would be very noticeable. I bet one notch on the fifth wheel slider would move more weight.

I concur with @Oxbow, not gonna matter much. It might mean around 50#s one way or the other, if that much.

That was my thought too - with all the weight that's on a fifth wheel, 1 notch only moves 3-500#'s, something fairly centered in the chassis shouldn't move too much, but since I added a heavy rack, I'm sure I'll shoot myself in the foot at some point lol.

More bad news @snowman_w900 . After asking around, it seems that a lot of folks don't like your ankle strap platform shoes even though you do have a Steel toe on 'em.
Buncha mean spirited folks out there.

I bet it ain’t even that much on a inch. Figure on 24 inch diameter tanks each inch of tank length is approximately 2 to 2.25 gallons. Gallon of diesel is ~8 lbs. So if you move each tank forward 2 inches, that would end up being like 72 pounds difference. If you moved less than 2 inches and/or you have the 22 inch tanks, it will be even less weight. Also that’s assuming that your steer axle would carry the full weight that is changed versus splitting the difference a bit between the drives and steer.

Getting way too close to throwing Math in here. I'm itching already. I've told y'all I'm allergic to that stuff.
