Ripping monster apart to fix a couple of exhaust manifold leaks. Pulled my turbo blanket off and seen soot on turbo......cracked exhaust housing. .....it's only $$$$$.

 

There IS a bit of embellishment in that piece. It has been around for a long time. Air traffic control is divided not only by area but, altitude. The high altitude sectors are on different frequencies than low altitude and terminal approach. The sled at 60K would not be on the same freq as a Cessna down low but, it IS a funny story. With GPS available to nearly anyone who flys ground speed checks are rare today, 30 years ago they were somewhat common.

When the rear axles are forward ahem it appears to me that it was “stuffed from the rear” therefore by default....
