You ever heard his remake of Johnny Paycheck’s Someone to Give My Love To? It’s a good song, both versions.

I yanked the exhaust manifold on my old 3406A a few weeks back. All but 1 of the 8 remaining studs came out. Thank god for oil leaks!

Had another truck come in today delivering large wooden crates, guy had a real nice 579 Pete. It's about time to go home and I get volunteered to help unload. It's pouring down rain and the wind is gusting to about 45 mph and it's 40 degrees outside, perfect weather for unstrapping and folding tarps.

The crates had "Do not store outside" stenciled on them and my partner commences to unloading and sets them on the ground next to the trailer. The guy turns to me and kind of mystified and angry at the same time asks me......"your not going to store these inside?". What am I suppose to say? So I tell him they are being used for the plane that is being de-commissioned but I don't think that helped any because he had 4 tarps to put up and was quick to ask me why the hell did he have to tarp it then. Wasn't my load so I didn't really have a good answer for him.

He was probably in his early 60's and his son was home from college helping him out. Both of them are soaking wet, head to toe, not a piece of rain gear between them. The son is wearing leather docksiders and has on a light jacket, dad has his kaboy boots and a light jacket also and not a glove between either one of em.

Both of them are freezing, cussing, trying to get the tarps back on the trailer so I offer to help. Dad can't work the straps, can't get em unwound off of the ratchet, just like the ones you have on your load @PoleCrusher , so I offer my help. I help em get the tarps up on the trailer and he's fightin with the stuck ratchet strap so I unstuck his strap and he asks me to secure it down for him so I did. Helped the son close up the side box because it needed straps on the door to keep it closed.

Anyway, I just couldn't understand how you can't be prepared for any kind of weather and how the heck do you flatbed without gloves and how do you not know how to operate a ratchet strap? I hate wearing gloves but when I was flatbeddin I couldn't be without em.

I see it everyday. Heck I’ve been caught short a few times myself but, nobody’s fault but mine.

Don’t feel sorry for them. If he is 60 years old and doesn’t have it figured out then don’t waste your time.

    But that’s just my opinion.

So, it's raining, beer30, wind howling, altogether bad day... and some hand jumps in to help me fold my 4 tarps, which, in a 45 mph gust, is a very difficult task.

I promise you, I would show gratitude. My conversation would be positive. Even if it were my worst day living, if some hand jumped up to volunteer to help me do my responsibilities, I would have a positive attitude. I may steam and fume inside, but in the face of this Man, I would be positive.
