Hell I hated gloves as a wrench. But once I started running wrecker you wear gloves for everything and it sticks with you. Now even dumping hopper I get out put on gloves just to crank open gates. Im home more nights a year then ever. I still carry bag of over night or two. Cold weather and rain gear stay in the truck permanently and can round up 4 or 5 sets of gloves. Then again I carry a decent set of tools too. I bet I could loose 1,000 lbs or more if I took it all out. Still find yourself short once in awhile.

    As usual your right @TripleSix

It was very nice of him to help him and his son. I love to help too but....

When people are so ill prepared I hesitate because I could be the person to get hurt in the situation?

They aren’t going to help me when I get disabled.... he’ll they can’t even take care of themselves.

People that don’t know any better, get others around them hurt.

Been there and have a couple of shirts.

I appreciate when others help or offer too. But I have done alot of this long enough that I have a very specific way of doing things since most time your on your own. Sometimes it throws me off when someone helps. Then I forget something and makes me more mad or their help actually takes longer. With that said @Bear135 and everyone that has offered a hand, Thank You guys. It is appreciated. And your a big person--------- for doing that. lol

    lol.

Took uncle Bill with me to deliver hay to a dairy farm a month ago. Very helpful helping me roll up the tarps in the mud and cow ####.

The following week I had the tarp job from hell. Took 3 tarps to get this 8’ 6” tall piece of equipment tarped. Open top, on a ladder scaling the edges and get it all covered........

Yup you guessed it? We folded them inside out!!!

Still glad uncle bill helped me. 535777C0-2104-49C5-B097-96EBAA614D0D.jpeg

I’m with ya, I get frustrated when people don’t offer to help (partially because we work for the same company) but then when they do they’re just in the way.

No doubt on the embellishment factor...

My cousin is a pilot. Or...former pilot. Embry Riddle grad and spent some time flying for a private airline outta the northeast. Did a lot of medical-related flights from the little I know....

The story always reminds me of this scene from Top Gun...

Well...today is done. Was gonna park with the bears here in Virginia but then I remembered about my hiding hole at exit 302 so here I am.

Really appreciate all the kind words on the tarp, fellas @catalinaflyer @ShooterK2 @Ruthless @cke @Bear135 and anyone else that I may have missed.... it took me a LONG ####ing time. I had it secured in minutes but the padding and tarping took from roughly 1000 to 1245... all things considered not too bad? But Christ just give me a Quikdraw.

So now that I’m three hours behind, essentially, I had to run my clock out tonight and plan on running with the door shut tomorrow.... maybe Savannah maybe FL/GA line... we will see.

I got an appointment for 1pm Saturday. And then I get to kill myself taking the tarps off down there in Florida. What a total PITA. I’d buy Ruthless a round for everytime he tarped these bloody things. I was physically and mentally shot by 1300... and I had to fire her up and try to enjoy 450 miles....

This is the only bad thing going on with the tarp.... it’s got a hard on I guess. Everything else is fine. It bellows a tiny bit on the passenger side... other than that absolutely no holes and I can see clear down both sides of the trailer. So..... not bad.

Phrase of the day "Chinese Fire Drill".

Desk drivers need to be re-tested so they quit sight side backing their rolling chairs into things and bumping their heads.

Also have a new driver, CDL-A already in hand w/ some experience starting Monday. I get to road test him and show him the ropes. My "reward" is at least a month of getting chained inside the warehouse to help bossman get ready for inventory. One of the downsides to establishing myself as a go-to guy who gets crap done, I guess. o_O

"Don't worry, as soon as we get all the crap that whatshisface screwed up before he quit fixed, you'll be back in the truck".

Yes, yes I will. Otherwise I'll start acting like the Feral Kid from "The Road Warrior".
