Don’t know if they were just picking on me or something. But PW in Jupiter danced me around like a circus clown three times before I lost my cool — never lost my cool at a customers before but I broke in half and became a straight up A-grade dick.

I got empty with my bills signed, eventually. And hot tailed it outta there. If I had a large car there would STILL be a black cloud over that place.

WTF. Is all I gotta say.

Here we go.... long novel ahead.

I’ll preface this by saying I always try to show up to any customers yard with a good mood. I don’t know who they had to deal with before me. I don’t know what type of mood they were in, I don’t know if they smelled bad, wrecked the dock, pissed on the warehouse floor, I don’t know...

So I go in as professional as I can. I went to the main entrance. It’s not Boeing, evidently, there’s not a whole lot of obvious truck signs or entrances. So I used google maps and went with what I felt was the “obvious way.” Well haha, it was the wrong way. No worries though. Security guard was the COOLEST person I dealt with all day.

“No problem driver. Go over there, behind the guard shack, bank a u-turn, come back up here. Make a right, follow the highway to the next set of lights. Make another right. At the stop sign turn right again. Shipping entrance should be on your...you guessed it... right...”

Cool guy. Even blocked the PW traffic for me.

So, I go to where he instructed and they tell me “no, trailers go in the main building at Dock so and so...”

Well. Alright. I’m still cool as can be at this point.

Back I go the guard shack. He’s seeing me turn in again and kinda giving me that “why are you back here” kinda look. I pull the knob, turn the truck off, tell him I went to shipping...

“They told you WHAT?! Let me do those bills, driver...”

I hand him the bills. He’s shaking his head. I know I’m going back to the OTHER building, again. He makes a phone call.

“I told them you’re coming back. If they send you over here again you call me.”

He gives me his number and off I go...

Back to the OTHER building. Second time now. Alright. I talk to the head honcho of shipping that day. “Park there in the street, untarp, I’ll unload you with the forklift.”

I’m cool still. Alright. Good deal. Let’s get to work. Pull tarps. Immediately my stomach drops. Water spots everywhere. I spent 20 minutes cleaning up what I could with a rag. EVERYWHERE. I drove through two days worth of rain and #### I did not expect this. A single drop of moisture gets under that tarp and it eats away at everything. ####.

So. As I’m rolling my tarps with my head between my legs... a lady comes outta the dock.

“Driver back in here so we can unload you...”

What? He said... alright. Be cool. Smile.

It’s a tight two lane blindside back setup for straight trucks. Me trying to keep my cool I don’t check google maps to realize there’s a round da bout beyond the business park... I do a blindside anyway... first shot I got it just about right. As I’m straightening it out a third fella comes out to see me... and that’s when they day went south.

“These trailers go over to the main building, docks so and so..”

I call up my buddy. Give my phone to this third fella... he tosses it back to me.

“I don’t care what he says it’s going back over there.”

By this point, grade-a dick Stwik comes out.

“You see those chains? You see that tree? It’s happening within the hour...”

He walks away. I finish unchaining. Sitting in the dock. Waiting.

    Third guy comes back.

“We will unload you but you need to park over there...”

WELL WHAT THE #### MY GUY.

So I finally park exactly where these snobs want me to park. After mucking around in a straight truck area for 30 minutes babying the trailer back and forth (the trailers have brakes but I don’t trust them that much).

The leader of shipping/receiving finally comes out on a bloody forklift and takes them off... doesn’t say a single word about the the water spots all over the trailers. Alright. #### it. My lips are sealed.

“Now was that so hard, driver?”

    “Excuse me?”

I gave him some much deserved lip service after he signed my bills. Slammed my door shut. And was in 10th gear within a quarter mile.

I don’t enjoy being ran around like a circus freak. I understand if the guard thinks one thing and they think another. But I don’t think that was the case. There were trailers in that building like I had. I had to deal with three different people, plus the guard, all three of them had different instructions for unloading. MAKE UP YOUR MIND AND EVERYONE GET ON THE SAME PAGE.

The guard was the only one that seemed to have his crap in a row. The three in shipping/receiving need to have a meeting or something. I don’t know.

She will be kicking my ### (her words, not mine) if I’m not home for her dinner with the county Mounties Friday night... so yeah. Let’s hope OTIS doesn’t change that.

I will add I am by no means throwing PW into the ground.

But crap. I didn’t know I need a college degree and the ability to read minds to get two trailers off the deck...

You’d think with the number of trucks they receive on a weekly basis everyone would be on the same page and give the drivers the same instructions?

Why is she telling me one way and he telling me another?

    .....

I just.... wow.... what I way to put a guy in a mood.
