Beyond that I’ve never seen a bona fide set of rules. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist, but I’m now curious and I’m going to stop the next time I scale and ask and will post my findings in this thread.JC1971, KB3MMX, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
Hauling a light load down I-25 from Montana to Denver leads one to ask, why does Wyoming not have windmills like the Columbia river valley?

I’ve never gone over but have known 3 Drivers over the years all 3 were loaded light and blown over by 50 mph winds. I base my opinion on that info. Any chance of gusts over 45 and I’m parking preferably so wind hits back doors or front on Cab if needed.I once saw a picture of Truck lifted up by tornado and planted right side up in field. Driver said it was quite a ride! Frame of Truck was on ground.Tires were planted. No Thanks

Well I got to Weed when the wind warnings began. Checked NOAA radio and it said 60+ mph gusts north of here until late tonight.
I'm shut down until morning.Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I am in Yreka now. No wind. Easy Peasy. Maybe that all changes in weed.

Past weed now southbound. Not bad. A few gusts around Weed only.

Rolled through between 1230-1300. It was windy, but not horrible. There were even a few trucks rolling through the empty lane at the Dunsmuir scale. But I might have missed the peak of the wind intensity.
