That isn't even the start of it. Spring the restrictions hit all three of the types of highways. You either have level 1 restrictions (90%) or level 2 restrictions (65%).
Ex. So, if you are running a class B highway (90% of RTAC: 35,550kg on tandem tandem) and it's level 1 restricted, you can only have 31,995kg gross (axle group maximums are also lower, 13,770kg for a tandem).
65% restrictions are a big no go for trucks. 65% of 6000 kg on the steers is 8,580 lbs. No truck is that light on the steers even empty.
Spring is a time you see more MOT officers on the back roads than at the scales because of the massive overweight tickets they get to write. And they'll be at the OTHER end of the highway, waiting for you to come all the way down before nailing you.
It's crazy trying to keep it all straight.Feedman, 4mer trucker, tbac and 17 others Thank this. -
Thanks guys I appreciate it!!!4mer trucker, BigBob410, 1951 ford and 16 others Thank this.

Regional Transportation Advisory Committee
these committees for each region determine which roads shall be held to federal limits and which will be held to provincial or regional limits for weights and dimensions. the federal limits originally where supposed to be maximums but provincial governments in ON,PQ ,NB and NS rewrote their provincial regs to accommodate certain segments of the local economies. no RTAC roads can be seasonally restricted unless approved federally for exceptional reasons. Once a highway is designated as RTAC it takes a federal committee to remove it's designation. -
Been considering this same thing myself.....Feedman, 4mer trucker, BigBob410 and 13 others Thank this.

Most of them don't actually bother me. The new ones are quiet enough I don't even notice them in the bunk. I certainly don't have anything against anyone for the trailer they chose to pull. But I swear there's a reefer magnet somewhere on my truck.Feedman, 4mer trucker, BigBob410 and 14 others Thank this.

Just in case you offend any women, this video will confuse them before they can respond.4mer trucker, BigBob410, 1951 ford and 13 others Thank this. -
It might be that they see someone that the feel won't take their hood off, and decide to reduce the risk by half by parking next to you.Feedman, 4mer trucker, BigBob410 and 17 others Thank this.
