I've got that Cobra 29 that I bought used at the Council Rd TA with a Wilson external speaker and the Ranger mic that you and @wore out suggested and a K1000 magnetic roof mount antenna and I'm really happy with it, gets out plenty good, nice and clear.

I like the Cobra 29 in this truck...

Whenever I get a brand new ride here I may go out and get something special, Magnum or a Galaxy and set it setup right.

A Cobra 29, with a decent fire stick for an antenna, and a nice 636L will talk just fine and have the range you want. The stock Cobra mic isn’t worth its weight, imo. I tried to run the one that was in Purple Nurple and no one could hear me.

I watched a new driver this morning push on the tires with his tennis shoe. (To his credit he did have a flashlight). CVSA put a great deal of emphasis on tires, and 50% of stamped psi is considered flat.

Pushing with a shoe will only show its off the bead. So you could potentially have 18 low tires. I've found if I hit it with my hammer and it doesn't rebound, its 60psi or less. I've gone thru several air hoses over the years dragging them out and back, I got smart and bought a Milton lock on chuck.
