I got a 2013 Volvo vnl D13 780 when driving I start losing acceleration and once I'm at a complete stop truck shuts off... but it' starts up no problem and starts driving again! It gets pretty bad in mountains and valleys... I got no fault codes or engine lights on... I have an eye delete could it have something to do with It???? At the shop and changes fuel filter, speed sensor, oil pressure sensor... what could it be?????

Drain fuel water separator or change it .That might work

Has anyone found out what the problem is with the power loss? I’m having the same problem. 2011 d13. It starts and runs fine, but soon as I get on the highway after 45mph, it starts losing power. Won’t accelerate past 1500rpm. And any incline and will start bogging down again. Changed fuel filter. Seems like it’s sucking in air somewhere . Last week , found my primer pump was in the up position and I primed a few times and it fixed the problem. Then when it started again I went to look and my primer pump was again in the up position. So I taped it down and all was good. Now it’s doing again with the primer pump down. Thinking I need a new fuel pump housing. Seems like a lot of people are having this problem but no one ever post the fix.

What transmission you have and does your truck show a speed at the time when this happens? Maybe speed sensor or a wire that connects to a sensor.

I have a 10 speed manual. By the way, I fiddled with the primer pump again yesterday and it’s running normal again. I’m gonna change out the fuel pump housing when I get home and see what happens.

    Volvo D13 & D16 Biggest design flaw

    Cups.

Air displacing fuel in the cylinder head.

higher amounts of load on the engine create higher pressure combustion air being pushed into the fuel rail thought the cups, displacing fuel ... causing misfiring and power loss.

    Symptoms...any or a combination;

    Black fuel filters

    Hard starting

    Power loss on hills

    Shaking or sputtering while driving

    Poor mpg

    Fuel in coolant....(very damaging)

Coolant in Fuel...(also can be very damaging)

Yea I know about the design flawed injectors on the d13. And like most people who had the injectors replaced didn’t seem to solve the problem. I have def delete so I know it’s not an emission system problem. Bad injectors would cause misfire and power problem, but not complete throttle loss. Bad turbo doesn’t cause it either. I used to test turbos for an engineering company for international. We ran trucks til the turbo blew. Dealer is saying the check valve on fuel filter housing is bad and sucking in air. Which I’m having changed but I’m still weary on that being the cause.

    Actually you're wrong.

Bad injectors and cups can cause throttle loss severe enough to stall out on a hill.

Just saying .... Don't write off that possibility with the POS Volvo fuel system...
